SNIPP Tokens
SNIPP tokens are the native currency of the Snippbot ecosystem. They will govern usage credits, reputation scores, and platform incentives when the cloud tier launches.
What SNIPP tokens are for

Self-hosted: no tokens needed
Section titled “Self-hosted: no tokens needed”The self-hosted free tier (what you’re running now) does not use SNIPP tokens. You bring your own API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) and pay the LLM provider directly. SNIPP tokens only apply to the hosted cloud service.
Earning tokens
Section titled “Earning tokens”When the cloud tier launches, tokens can be earned by:
- Publishing agent templates used by the community
- Contributing workflow templates to the shared catalog
- Reporting and resolving bugs via the bounty program
- Staking early to earn yield from platform fees
Spending tokens
Section titled “Spending tokens”- Inference credits: Each cloud-hosted LLM call costs credits based on model and token count
- Premium models: Access to larger models requires more credits per call
- Template licensing: Purchase commercial templates from verified publishers
Wallet
Section titled “Wallet”Your token wallet will be visible in Settings → Wallet. The wallet shows:
- Current balance
- Transaction history (earned / spent)
- Estimated usage at current rate
- Top-up options
Current status
Section titled “Current status”SNIPP tokens are planned for Phase 6 (cloud tier). No implementation exists in the current self-hosted version.
